I love these tablets in general, OLED and quad firing speakers are amazing and i also like dex (dont use it but like the idea!).
That said my concern with the S5e is performance, it's decidedly mid range, and I can see it stuttering the animations and such, similar to the S4 did. I worry about the longevity of any device that shows signs of struggle now. That said, it's probably fine, it's not like it's trash performance.
I did a little amateur test, I set my iPad 7th gen 10.2 next to my tab S5e and touched post links on a forum at the same time. I figured since 95% of what I actually do is websurfing, I wondered if there would be any difference. Well there was, the iPad opened the posts a split second faster every time. Is it a big deal? Again, YMMV.
I think my One Plus 7 Pro spoiled me. It's kind of underrated how powerful the SD 855 in general is (865 didn't seem to be as much of a jump). The thing trashes the entry level iPad for example which is a speedy machine. To put another way the SD 855 torches a Intel Core M3, too. That and the 90hz and 12GB Ram on my OP7 pro combine to spoil me I think as I'm used to speed in my most used device.
Still like the Samsung OLED tablets a lot, if you're not an apple person I recommend them. I wish the Tab S6 would go on some type of fire sale....knowing Samsung's history though it wont (other than YMMV vary retailers things, which are hard to catch).
If Sammy would sale the Tab S6 for 449 (it's successor should be coming soon) and still grant the current 300 traded in they do for the S5e, or even 250, I'd jump on it. The Samsung trade in program is great, high values, they take the price off the top, and it's so easy to do (they send you a prepaid label, you have 15 days from receipt of your new tablet, no packaging or accessories required just literally the bare tablet, couldn't be much easier). There are most likely overblown tales on SD of them rejecting trade ins, but they accepted mine which had a few scratches without issue. And you can have them send it back if it fails their standards (which they dont seem to have any other than you factory reset it, it turns on, and no cracks) so there was no risk on my end, as I knew I could get 250 for it on swappa in the unlikely event they rejected it.
