What the exact differences are, I have no idea.
I really want to get one of these grills (as I participate in the carnivore diet), but I'm scared of both the high prices of the "name brand" versions as well as the price disparity between those and grills like this Cosway.

I just use a Bernzomatic with flame spreader. Much more versatile for different shape meat and I've used it to burn weeds and sweat pipes.

Some of the best/worst are for pets, where the company will place say a cat photo plopped on a bed to make the bed seem much larger than it actually is.
For a pretty effective and inexpensive way to put out a lot of heat (1000 degrees F) for a sear with a propane tank, I'd recommend Harbor Freight's propane torch: https://www.harborfreig
As mem4720 said, torches are a lot more versatile for searing different shaped meats (sides of 2-3in steaks, or chicken breast for example).
