I wish I could afford 1tb AND 32gb ram but I needed funds for final cut pro. it works beautifully for editing (Sony a6400 compressed?) 4k video. I believe it's 60fps which I had trouble with on the 2020 13" MPB

not terrible if you are in need of a laptop. But $200 off doesn't even cover Chicago tax (10.25%). Rather wait for a hhgregg direct deal.

Costco cover an additional year of warranty and additional 2 on top if you use the Costco citi card.

May be true on paper, but have you ever tried going through Costco's concierge for a warranty claim? It was nothing but a nightmare for us, but then again, it's not really Costco that we're dealing directly with.

IMO, if you want a warranty, it's AppleCare or nothing. Nothing comes close.

Exactly, I don't get the hype of Costco extend warranty, let alone the warranty offered by citi.
They look good on paper, but in reality...

On the other hand, Amex's warranty pretty good, very easy to work with.

I would be all over this if the RAM was 32GB. I'm sure it's fine now, but it won't age well after a few years.

I'll wait for the hhgregg deal since no tax. But good deal for those that need it now and Costco is always a good vendor to buy electronics from.

If you are spending over $2k the smart decision is to spend an extra $360 (via education store) or wait and spend an extra $350 via AppleInsiders on a config that comes with 32GB

That's $100 per year for a much smoother experience

For anyone that is going to come in here and say that 32GB is not needed if you simply browsing the web, that's not true. Your laptop will run much smoother and snappier in day to day activities. For me and im sure for many others an extra $100 per year over 3 years is well worth it.

Plus if you plan on selling your Macbook Pro in 3 years selling one with 16GB will be alot harder to sell than one with 32GB and you will be able to get AT LEAST $100-150 more making the upgrade cost less than $200 for 3 years of use.

Also I would watch out as most of the sale prices on the 16" are for the Space Grey only which has serious issues with discoloration on the palm rests and by the vents

I like the book that you wrote, but in my case ok MY CASE ! Première and after effects running together just overheat and slowed down my previous MC with same configuration! I'm going to wait sure I can get better deal on BF, for I while I'm good with my AMD 3900x and 64 memory.

I would agree with this. I sprung for 16GB of RAM when I purchased a Late 2013 MacBook Pro 13" and it still runs great after almost seven years. And even if I were to resell it now, the price difference between the 16GB and 8GB of ram is significantly more (almost pays for itself in the upgrade after 7 years).

With that said, Apple knows this as well and hence the reason the up-charge is $400 for 32GB and also why all discounted machines are only 16GB.

The Apple garden has its entry fees. What are you going to do? Switch to Windows? haha
