  • Fans have long wondered what happened to Ahsoka after she left the Jedi Order near the end of the Clone Wars, and before she re-appeared as the mysterious Rebel operative Fulcrum in Rebels. Finally, her story will begin to be told. Following her experiences with the Jedi and the devastation of Order 66, Ahsoka is unsure she can be part of a larger whole ever again. This book was originally called "Canon" by Disney (since the day it came out in 2016). When fans noticed that Star Wars TV episodes (Clone Wars season 7 ) came out that contradicted several things stated in this book, Disney has indicated that only the films are the true canon and that films can ignore anything previously considered "canon" from other sources (books, statements, etc.) and thus make anything but other films technically irrelevant in the timeline, even if it was claimed to previously be canon.

As long as you go into the purchase understanding that it has some contradictions with the film-canon and you just want to purchase it as an entertaining story that may no longer be "canon," then this is a phenomenal deal. For $0.99, I'm going to get it too.
Yes it does, after the latest season on Disney+ there is a little bit that doesn't line up like the color of her sabers but in large it still fits good between clone war show and rebels. I just binged all of clone wars, rebels and read this novel with the last few weeks no issues here. it got me beyond pumped for mandolarion season 2 and if they actually do a live action rebels continuation.

What what? There's "true canon" now? I knew the whole expanded universe / Legends thing was a joke. Now it's even more so.

It takes place around a year after the final episode of TCW. She's trying to find her place in the galaxy after everything that happened, while also trying to avoid being detected as a Jedi or even having force powers, for obvious reasons. It's a decent SW novel. Not the best, but worth a read. My favorites are Dark Disciple and Lords of the Sith. A New Dawn is also pretty good. They all take place in that 19 year period. I won't spoil it with any more specifics, except, she's no longer Snips.

FWIW I got an email from Google today with a $4 off coupon off their eBooks. YMMV. I used it to buy a different SW ebook, the YA novelization of TROS, for $0.99. It's supposed to fill in some details missing from the movie and has gotten decent reviews. I'm pretty sure I've read every SW novel other than the YA novelizations.

Just looked at my account if you own the Kindle book the audio book dropped down to 8.99 to add. Brings it to $10 together instead of $30 for the audio. I added it especially considering the narrator thanks for the tip there!

And Disney did away with the EU so they could keep a consistent canon more easily. No surprise, it didn't take them long to contradict that.

Do you have a source on Disney saying it was no longer canon? I can't find anything.

The contradictions in the clone wars from this book are so minor that they can easily be explained away without any problem.
