Epson 3200 is also available for about $100 less. The two models virtually identical, but I went with the 3800 for the higher contrast (100k:1 vs. 40k:1) and the built in speakers.

Fan Noise. In ECO mode, rated at 24 dB, the 3800 is hard to hear even in quiet moments in a quiet room. The noise level in Medium, rated at 32 dB, is loud enough that some may find it annoying while others find it acceptable, particularly in a family room with ambient noise. In High mode, rated at 35 dB, the noise level is enough to easily notice from anywhere in a small to mid-size room. Most people will likely find it distracting even in a family room and may want to consider some form of acoustic isolation.

Are ppl gonna use in ECO or regular mode?

The 4010's powered lens controls also works in tandem with onboard memory to let you easily change lens settings as needed for a constant image height setup. If the price difference between the two models remains this small, you'll want to take a close look at the 4010 before you decide on the 3800.

4010 is nice but no hdmi 2.0 for the 4k 60fps gaming. I love that on my 3200.

Not a bad deal. I wish I could justify getting a new one, but my 4030UB is just too good until there is a substantial difference around this price point.

I saw this one this morning and pulled the trigger and have successfully cancelled my Amazon order. Will take longer to be received from Parker Gwen I don't expect them to ship for a week based on my previous experience with them, but I can wait Smilie

Unless you are sitting close enough to see the grid between the pixels you will not notice the difference

Thats pretty much a given at anything under $4K even used and refurbished.

Overall I got the 3100 awhile ago for way cheaper and its amazing, its the littler brother minus the 4k and there is no point of upgrading. For brand new this is a great deal on a projector of this quality and it also has 3D which makes it one of the few out there for those who enjoy their 3D collections like me.
