Hey, thanks for sharing. This seems like quite a good deal looking at past history for an 8GB version of this card. There's been a lower price before but it was a single fan card. MSI's warranty claims have been kind to me in the past too. I'd probably would have bought this if I didn't see a deal for a 1660 Super for $220 (AR) a few weeks back. These newer cards have much lower watt usage which is great for the summer time when your room can get REALLY warm/hot just from your graphics card pumping heat into it.

Oh, the 1660 Super is a much better performer but there's tremendous value with this card with its 8GB variation (long story short don't get the 4GB version of the RX 5500 XT, it has performance issues compared to the 8GB version). If you could make a chart based on a performance to price ratio, the RX 5500 XT at $170 would probably rank at the very top of that chart with the 1660 Super next on the list. If you could get the 1660 Super for $200 then its value would probably surpass the RX 5500 XT. It's been VERY tough to get a 1660 Super that cheap. I was kicking myself for not buying it at $209.99 in a prior slickdeal that sold out too fast. But $220 seemed good based on current pricing.

Thank you very much. I'm not in a rush so Ill hold off a bit to see if there are better deals on the 1660 Super or 2060.

Almost identical. Maybe 5% increase in performance on this card.

The RX5500 is actually slightly better than the RX580. Its also newer, thus gets better support. I ordered this model initially, but jumped up to RTX 2060 KO for the ray tracing. New models are supposed to come out at the end of this year, but the trajectory a moot statement at this time due to the situation of the supply chain.

For the money, I'd prefer a much better performing GTX 1070 which will still play everything in 1080p at ultra settings that can be had, albeit used, for around $200 on eBay.

marginally better (def not worth an upgrade), but runs cooler and takes less power.

How are you enjoying the ray tracing on it? From what I've seen most games are unplayable with Ray Tracing enabled on a 2060.

Interesting, I'm reading mostly positive comments on the 2060 with the only downside being the cooling system setup on these cards. I haven't put together the system yet, still waiting for my ITX case. However, if set at the appropriate settings, the ray tracing should be beneficial in this particular entry level model. There's a parts shortage. After I ordered the 2060 KO, they went out of stock

The 2060 KO uses the TU104 die
Quote :
That means the EVGA KO packs the same 1,920 CUDA cores and 30 dedicated ray tracing cores as other RTX 2060s, tied to the same 6GB of GDDR6 VRAM with a 192-bit bus, bringing the total overall memory bandwith to a blistering 336Gbps. It behaves exactly like its TU106-based siblings in both gaming and ray tracing performance in our testing. Gamers Nexus discovered one key performance difference: The TU104-based EVGA KO performs up to 57 percent faster in Blender rendering tasks. That's a very niche use case, but if you use Blender, it's enough to push you toward the EVGA KO over rival RTX 2060 models.

I think if you check the reviews, hardware unbox said this one a pass, nearly the worst cooler in the group.
