Read these when I was younger and absolutely loved them.
Thanks OP!

Glad these are on sale, it's too bad that it's probably because of the joke of a movie adaption that Disney is about to release.

If you've read any of the books, you can see that the tone in the trailer is vastly different from the tone of the books, and that significant plot points have been changed to make it "Disneyfied". A shame, since it could have been something original.

a shame the movie is like 10 years too late and looks pretty bad from most perspectives, characterization, character appearance, and plot wise.

and pandemic or not, having the movie switch from a theater release to a Disney + release is hardly a sign of confidence

edit- Interesting enough this new cover art makes one of the same mistakes the film is making, having the fairies look just basically like miniature humans with human proportions. Even the size is wrong, she's basically a short human at this point in some of the covers. Artemis is hardly a giant but he's 5'5" by Atlantis Complex

Another edit- Had no idea a sequel series started about Artemis' younger brothers called the Fowl Twins

The only good thing about the movie is it got my son very excited to read these. I'm hoping to finish the first book before it comes out next week. I don't know why they can never stick closer to the story with the movie adaptations.

Absolutely loved these books as a kid. So much nostalgia for it. I remember it being some of the most intellectually compelling and tactically complex stuff I've ever read. It was an absolute blast.

These new covers are terrible. The original ones are still incredible, so why did they have to change them into these hideous pieces?

The new movie coming out based on the trailers actually looks awful, completely tonally different from the books, and a completely different interpretation of it all. There's a solid chance this will be a terrible adaptation. How could they screw up adaptations of excellent source material, like they did with Eragon?

Wish the sale was after the movie came out. Will probably leave a bad taste in my mouth if they don't do it right

If my steam library is anything to go by, you'll buy them and not read them for a while anyway. So the end goal here may just be the same.
