The RX 5500 uses the more recent GDDR6. No opinion there's reasons to get one or the other and the article will inform you more if you're considering this.
If anybody has a comparison of rx 5500 xt 4 gb vs RX 580 8 gb that'd be more informative and applicable so please share.

Denying that 4gb is for 1080p and below is a wild assertion in 2020. This card isn't for gaming in 1440p which the 580 does handle. That's a fact. 580 is a more capable card.
Honestly I'm not sure what AMD was thinking with a 4GB 5500xt.
This is still a pretty good deal though.

Obviously 8gb is better but both the 5500xt and 580 have 8gb options too from what I see.
