If you really needed it now, this is a good deal. But be aware that the 16 and 8 port PoE Lite switches have been in early access for a while, and are likely to come out for general availability soon!

The new switches run a lot cooler and have better power sources for home consumers. Their retail price is almost exactly the same as this sale!
If you've been dragging your feet on making the switch to Ubiquiti, I highly recommend you jump on this deal. I picked up two UAP-AC-M last deal, and my network has been incredibly stable ever since. I just turned the wireless radios off in my ASUS RT-AC68U and use these in mesh mode. One of them is hooked up directly to my router, and the other is setup with wireless uplink.
While the new lite switches are smaller and sleeker, they may not suffice from poe perspective. The 16 port lite switch lists only 45watts of poe - which is less than the 8 port lite(???). The 8 port lite also has a wall adapter close to the same size as a MacBook Pro. They are supposed to run cooler than previous gen but don't have lower poe budgets.

Did you notice any gains in terms of distance? Is the signal actually stronger do you think?

So don't rush to buy a switch if I don't need it right now because the retail price is the same as this sale?

Also there have been some complaints about the quality of the new power supplies. Maybe this will get fixed before they ship?
