Looks pretty neat, despite not knowing if this is a good price or not ,just by the design and overall looks, it's not a bad deal. What do SD members think?
Marmot is indeed a quality clothing/gear brand for outdoor enthusiasts. Considering that this is a non-tech jacket (i.e. no weatherproofing, moisture wicking, or bomber insulation), the $60 price point seems like where it should be. That being said...it is a cool looking jacket for going out.
What's their return policy? I'm torn between M and L -- do these run small / large? Maybe I'd but both sizes + return one...?
Backcountry's return policy is pretty good.
Marmot runs true to size. Medium in Marmot is basically the same as Medium in the REI brands, possibly a bit roomier for outerwear.
Unfortunately this deal is only available in L, XL, and XXL.
Be nice to pick up something that doesn't melt when an ember lands on it. I am guessing this is not it since the shell is nylon?
Correct. You're going to want a natural fiber outer shell. A good wool coat can't be beat if you're around a campfire quite a bit. Same for wool gloves.
