Beware of buying direct from GoPro. They tried to overcharge me on tax. It should have been 6%, they tried to charge 10% tax. I contacted them and was blown off by two customer service reps.

I had the same experience trying top buy that Hero 8 bundle at $250... I think k they must be charging tax on the fictional retail price of all items (even free ones) in the bundle, essentially doubling the real sales tax for me and killing the deal.
I'm sure there are some tax/accounting advantages for them by doing this, but for me it feels sneaky and unfair and made me not buy from them at the last minute...
FYI I saw Amazon has the GoPro 7 black (without the memory cards) for $229 also but with a 10% offer if you pay with your Amazon card. Seems like a slightly better deal IF you have the Amazon credit card.

Good to know, thanks!
Amazon had the GoPro 7 bundled with a charger and extra battery at the price a few weeks ago but I missed it. Wonder if this cash back replaces that promo?
I have the same sales tax issue. It's charging 12% on an order that should be around 7%. Contacted customer support who just reads from a script saying they're sure it must be right. I am not an attorney, but this seems illegal.

Happened to me too and a heads up for anyone thinking of purchasing. When I bought accessories directly from GoPro because it was the cheapest option they charged me 10% sales tax for the pre-discount price (GoPro Plus discount), even though they have no domicile in my state and use tax for IL is 6.25%. When the payment posted the tax was 10% of the price post-discount, but I still overpaid.
