I had a 12 year old brushed hammer drill burn up and sent it in for LSA. They replaced it with a brand new brushless hammer drill with 2 batteries at Homedepot! All my 12 year old lithium batteries are still going strong to this day. I will never buy anything else.
Brushed tools... Available as factory blemished from direct tools outlet regularly for $279.

The $599 reg price kit at HD are the brushless tools.

EDIT: I'm not dissing the tools themselves because they're "brushed". I was merely pointing out that these are the brushed versions. It took me a long while to figure that out given the last deal post at SD and presence of the permanent magnets.

I have also read that a couple of the brushed versions of these tools have more power than the brushless versions, though I forget which.

I ultimately held off buying this set from Direct Tools because I figured I wanted the Ridgid hammer drill-impract driver combo and would go corded with recip and circular saws.
I had a rough time getting the LSA activated too and I followed every instruction perfectly. I triple checked every serial #, uploaded receipts, etc. The 90 day registration period is barely enough time. I checked my status every day and it finally REJECTED me. I called and kept my cool and the lady manually overrode it to approve me and said she "didn't understand why I was rejected for LSA in the first place" I had brand new tools by the way.

From the reviews, these brushed tools are just as powerful or more so than a lot of the brushless tools. I don't know this to be fact, but for my uses the "old" brushed motors will be fine. And, to save $20 I wouldn't give up the lifetime service plan that I doubt the ones at the outlet come with.
That is incorrect; the factory blemished tools from DTO are eligible for the LSA.

They say that but I followed every step for a fac blem belt sander I bought over winter, yet it doesnt appear in my account.

I think the whole ridgid lsa thing is a lie or at least super stingy. Id rather take a no nonsense 5 year warranty over this carrot on a rope bs.

Every Ridgid tool I've bought shows up in my account for the LSA. All I've had to do was put in the information on the site and I upload the receipt. I can't speak for how well it works since I haven't had to use the service.

Do these combo kits ever come up without the drill + driver? I want to build out a Rigid collection but already have the drill-driver combo.

Then you didn't follow every step. Everything I've ever purchased is registered for LSA in my account including 3 factory blem items.

Had to have my drill serviced. It was as painless as dropping it off at home depot and picking it up a week later.

Contact support. I had a hiccup registering once and they had it fixed within a few minutes with a phone call.

I bought this tool set 3 years ago and have been using it for home projects and they work flawlessly. Unfortunately my hammer drill&impact driver with both batteries were stolen in January. Have been waiting for this deal until I gave up and bought the octane drill/driver set 2 weeks ago for $350. Definitely returning those and getting this.
For those who had issues registering perhaps clear your cookies on your browser or something because I have registered countless ridgid tools and never had any issues.
