V series is better than entry level TCL or sceptre.

Only thing lacking is the streaming app isn't as good as roku. But, who cares about that. Picture quality beats the other budget brands on the same class. It gets brighter than other TVs similarly priced.

Hmm, how is this compared to the LG for $879.99 (I think), that's currently on sale right now...

Quick Summary from rtings: unless you want to play video games or use it as a PC monitor, the Vizio seems like a better value for money, especially at a $130 difference...only other difference would be individual user preference for webOS 3.0 vs SmartCast.

Depends on your usage case, if you watch sports definitely go with the 75" LG UM8070; which has an IPS display with wide viewing angles, native 120 Hz refresh rate, wide color gamut, and good upscaling. The 75" Vizio V-series has narrower viewing angles, native 60 Hz refresh rate, no wide color gamut and bad upscaling below 1080p. However, the 75" Vizio V-series has a much better contrast ratio than the 75" LG UM8070; making it great for watching movies especially when watching dark scenes when you need a high contrast ratio to view shadow details.

I have the 65" version of this Vizio 4K UHD HDR V-series and it is excellent. I returned the 65" 4K TCL Roku TV that was on sale back in Jan/early Feb because the picture was "dull", "flat", too "matte", way too dark, washed out, and overall just poor quality in comparison to my previous Vizio (the 4K UHD Du-2 Series). I also got annoyed by the Roku interface (apps slow to load or just not loading, the ads, ugly, inconvenient, etc..). The Vizio V-Series is economical to buy and, if needed, repair; it has an excellent picture quality and color depth; it has all the latest features like Alexa, Google Home/Assistant, & Apple Airplay integration; and the UI is simple and streamlined. It has more HDMI ports than the TCL and they're higher quality.

I bought the 65" Vizio V-Series V655-G9 for $378.11 in March at Target after a price match with Costco.com for $399.99 & my 5% Redcard discount (math was wonky bc of PM issues but it would have been ~ $379.99 + tax).
