Yes, it is seamless and you can use the same SIM. You will need to turn it off and on and dial ##873283# to get it working.
It uses sprint towers just incase any need to know
Thanks, that all I needed to know, running away now

Actually, it may be costing you the full $60 + taxes/fees at this point. I don't think the final bill is prorated even if you port out any time during the billing cycle. There are several posts about that if you search.
Ah man, that's pretty crappy. For some reason I thought they did because when I left early last year and came back the same day for the free plan, my final bill wasn't anywhere close to $60+. Though some quick reading around as you said, it's not looking good for me.

That is simply not how carrier locking works and hasn't been that way for years.

Not to mention, the LTE bands aren't going to determine whether or not you get a signal at all. The poor coverage by Sprint nationwide in comparison to Verizon, AT&T, and T-Mobile even has been proven empirically.
Work on your reading comprehension, friend. I explicitely said I do not have a sprint branded phone.

Also Sprint phones can and do roam on Verizon towers, depending on what bands the phone supports (and vice versa) so your assertion is flawed. (although that will only work if you have real sprint service, not Tello)

This is a great deal. I have used it several times. You can make it sweeter. You can buy $100 web store credit for $80. The web site pitches that deal.

I have an existing Tello line. Its account provides a referral link for friends and familiar to use. When I used this link to sign up for another Tello account (using a different email address which is needed as login), both the old account and the new account both got $10 account credit. That is $20 total for the family. After my 6 months coupon expires, I can use the $10 to get another month. That means 6 + 1 = 7 months. Data rolls over, but not minutes (because you cannot roll over unlimited minutes logically). I plan to spend all the $10, buy choosing unlimited min/text + 1 GB data for $10. This 1 GB will be combined with my rollover data. Tello rollover happens only when user manually renew. Auto-renew will not roll over leftover.

Regarding porting, you cannot port in an existing Tello number because it means not new customer. Porting from Sprint or MInt takes less than 10 min to be effective during working hours. Non-working hour porting will delay till the 1st working day morning. That is what I found out. To avoid losing your number, port it in to Tello on Friday if it expires during the weekend.

Where to buy this web store credit? and can you combine it with this coupon?

Can I buy sprint sim kit from Amazon or do I have to get the tello one? I checked and Amazon doesn't have tello but does sell sprint sim kit.
Hi I bought the 99c sprint sim from amazon. They send 3 different types of SIM cards and one of them worked for my iPhone.

Don't bother with the store credit. I used the store credit that I bought and was charged the full $49 price. As soon as I enterred the store credit as payment method it removed the coupon.

When I was ordering the 6 month plan on the website, it said $100 store credit for $80. One person posted saying that store cash invalidate coupon.

My pixel is on sprint with E-SIM.
If I port the number to Tello will the E-Sim work or I absolutely need the physical Tello sim?

I also wanted to know about the converse scenario -
if anyone wants to port from Tello->Sprint can that be done ?

Will it be considered a new customer for sprint ?
And will the Tello sim be used for new service activation on sprint at that time ?
Looks like the E-sim from Sprint might work. I gave myE-sim number and IMEI number of my pixel3 at the below link and it didn't complain. I din't port yet as my Sprint BYOD expires on 6/30. Looks like Volte and Wifi calling also works on Tello with Pixel. So everything checks out.

My Sprint Free BYOD plan expires 6/30 with my billing date on 22nd. So I am hoping my final bill of 6/23 to 7/22 will still be under the free plan. This will give me one more extra month of free sprint service before I port to Tello.

Exactly! that is my interpretation of this as well. Please update here once you have your June 22 bill in hand.

I have an iPhone 6S Plus that I was using on Sprint (originally an AT&T phone, but the phone has GSM and CDMA radios). Tello's website says the phone is not compatible and I can't activate my plan, but the phone freaking works on Sprint, so it should definitely work with Tello.

Anyone else have this problem?

Their customer service is pretty good, maybe give them a call.

I ported two lines in. One failed the test too, I don't remember the error, but it was because the phone (purchased in full from Apple Store) was locked by Sprint. Took an extra step to fix that. Maybe the error was "not compatible", not sure...

Anyone had any experience porting to tello before it's scheduled? Sprint has approved and released the number but Tello said they can't manually overwrite and finish the porting..the system decided the date ..

I called them about 5 times and got a voice message before I got a representative on the call, but it turns out that Sprint had the phone locked since it is on the free BYOD plan. I didn't think they could lock an unlocked phone, but they did.
