I saw this combo kit at my local Costco, not online. I don't know if it is professional grade, but IMO it is great for DIYers and small home improvement project.

The combo includes:

  • 2 gallon wet/dry vacuum
  • Reciprocating saw

  • 1x Battery charger
  • 1x Soft storage bag
  • 1x set of 1 in. screwdriving bits (10 pcs)
  • 1x 5-1/2 in 18T carbide tip blade
  • 2x 6 in fast wood cutting blade
  • 1x 2 in. magnetic bit tip holder

This is a fair price, but Porter cable is getting phased out. That shouldn't mean much to the average homeowner, but it means that there will never be the huge lineup of tools that other brands have. Stanley owns dewalt, porter cable, black and decker, and recently acquired craftsman, so, they've put porter cable on the back burner for the "prosumer" category and have really beefed up the craftsman line. My local lowes used to have a good sized porter cable aisle, but now it's just the end cap of the craftsman aisle.

Like I said, that doesn't mean much to the average homeowner because this kit will do them well. But they'll (probably) never get a cordless miter saw or caulk gun or cable stripper, etc.

However! My personal set of tools is Porter Cable with the drill and impact included in that kit. I have a bunch of batteries and I found an adapter that converts the battery from porter cable to the stick type battery for Ryobi's 18v line and now I've got a tire inflator and a 1/2" impact wrench that I use for tire rotations without buying a new battery ecosystemSmilie

Also, that vacuum is supposed to be very good, on par with some higher end vacuums

This is good to know. I'm currently shopping for something from the Porter Cable / B&D / Stanley 20v line so that I have a battery that I can use with an adapter for the older 18v B&D. Good to know I can use it further with the Ryobi

Can you share a link to the adapter?
Thanks!

For this price Id say youre better off with the 6 tool ryobi deal. You get the same tools but a light and oscillating tool and a bigger battery instead of the vacuum. Ryobi has their own vacuums too which are great (I have the 6gal and hand vac). Ryobi has been around forever with the same battery style and a HUGE selection, great stuff for DIYers. Things like the chemical sprayer, vacuums, nailers, that aren't used that often, but super helpful when you use them, make ryobi valuable because the higher end brand counterparts are always too expensive to justify.

Personally I think the porter cable tools are a lot nicer but to each his own.

I'm not the person you were asking, nor do I have one because I also just learned of the existence of this adapter from SirFrancisJohnson's post, but here is one on Amazon [amazon.com] (note the 5% [$1.25] coupon). Only two reviews, but one says, "Works great with porter cable battery!"

(My Fakespot extension gave me a New Seller Alert.)

Here's one on eBay [ebay.com] at about the same price.

The drill, impact driver, and vacuum are good. The vacuum has latch problems, but maybe if you're careful?

The two saws are their lower range saws, sold in their lower range bundles. You won't find them listed on the Porter Cable site except to be sold in bundles.

The 5 1/2" circular saw has bad reviews, the 6 1/2" (PCC660) is the better saw.

This reciprocating saw is not as well reviewed as their Tiger Saw (PCC670).
