Is there any reason to buy this over the 4500u Amazon version? I'm sure other people have this question. I'm not finding any reason... the Ryzen iGPU is basically on par with the MX330 for $80 less. I'm pretty sure the Ryzen CPU is about equal as well, if not better.

Ryzen CPU is way better. Check the HardwareUnboxed YouTube review of 4500u. It can be over 40% faster than i7-1065G7 in multi threaded benchmarks and actually slightly faster in single threaded workloads as well. I just don't see any reason of pairing MX 330 (rebranded mx250) in these laptops because both Iris Plus G7 and Vega 6 in 4500u offer almost same performance. All it's gonna do is eating battery life.
I will absolutely go for the $600 Amazon Flex 5 with Ryzen 5 4500u + 16GB ram model over this due huge CPU performance boost.
