I got the amazon deal with 16 Gb RAM and 256 SSD. rest is same except for wifi 6 vs wifi 5. for me 16 GB RAM was more important. And also, i belive the RAM is soldered in these units, you cannot upgrade. the one from amazon is same price 599, same CPU / GPU.
Stop believing in yourself because you are obviously wrong and it's confusing non-techy people.

I was wondering why it's advertised at $599, but then when I click on "view deal" and it takes me to the Costco site, it shows as $799?

Because the COSTCO sale on this laptop starts June 24th (see Thread title-6/24).

It's only on the title and first sentence... Guess asking people to read is too much

Hi all, was hoping someone could answer - why is it that when I actually click on "see deal", Costco is telling me it's $799 (not $599). Did I miss it already, or what...? Thanks!

The Costco listing no longer has the pictures, I wonder what's up with that.

ETA: Looks like a sitewide issue, no items are showing pictures.

I don't think they are all gone, he's just messing with you. I just ordered one. As the others have pointed out, the sale is 6/24 but costco will price match for 30 days. You can order today at the full price and then on 6/24 when it goes on sale you can contact costco to get the cost difference credited back to you when the sale hits.

Or I guess wait for the actual sale and hope they still have them in stock.

Memory upgrade is possible. See HP service provider manual.

http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06267280. 2019 AMD version manual link since this costco deal uses the older screen (thick bottom bezel) with new APU. Page 29/30.
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06618426 2020 version with thin bezel

Once removing rubber strips to access the screws, hope they don't keep falling off short of applying more glue to them.

The dim screen for me was a deal breaker.

I bought a similar version with less ram. The price for what you get is great, but for me the brightness of the screen was difficult to see and deal with on a regular basis. You shouldn't have any issues in low light settings though.

Technically the warranty is by Costco and since you are no longer an active member, Costco can and could deny the extended warranty. But since Costco built their reputation on guaranteed return, Costco in all probability will honor the warranty even you are no longer an active member. IMHO.
Hm, this or the $350 HP 14-dq1043cl (item #1420139) for the kids for doing a year of online-school? The only thing that worries me is excessive fan noise as per some reviews, not sure if the Envy line is any better in that regard. Performance wise I think they're both overkill for what they need. Battery seems longer lasting on the Envy.

So I gather that RAM is upgradable and not soldered down, right? And The nvme/ssd is a m.2 slot, so should also be upgradable/replacable, right?

So if I buy this in-store today (they said they had a couple on hand), does anyone know if I can do a price adjustment with their online form, or can you only do that in-person in the store? The reason I'm asking is that the online form, which I have used before, specifically states "costco.com orders", which wouldn't be the case for something I pick up in person.
