Looks like soldering the RAM and forcing the users to spend more when they need more RAM is the way now by all vendors. This is unfortunate. May be Apple is leading the way.
Everything on Partsurfer is field replaceable by qualified people. RAM, SSD and battery are listed. http://partsurfermobile.hp.com/?search=1G132UA

Haven't there been SD'rs who've actually cracked theirs open in this thread? Anybody confirm seeing the board in person with their own eyes? Hamster?
Weird being called hamster, I'm just rolling with the default name they gave me lol

Anyway, THE MEMORY IS ABSOLUTELY UPGRADEABLE ON THIS MODEL. I just looked at the user's manual for this SKU and it said it wasn't, so I got a little spooked at first. I finally opened it up just to check (torx screw can be opened with really small flathead), and yes, it is very upgradeable. Cheers. Don't trust HP reps or user's manuals, I guess. I don't really blame srsgonu, HP doesn't even know this model has upgradeable RAM apparently lmao

Anyone know what time in general Costco website reflects sale prices? Would rather not do price match so would like to purchase asap once it goes on sale on the 24th.

Another thing to note from my venture to the inside of this model:

While it only has a single cooling pipe, it does have two fans where the Flex 5 only had one. Another thing to note: the fans rarely come on anyway.

As you can see HP docs aren't exactly correct... But if you go by other specialty sellers they offer 64gb ram for ryzen 4000 cpu which lends me to believe that is viable. Again it's a guess, who knows motherboard manufacturer could have some arbitrary limit. If worried go 32.

Nice! Did you also have to remove the rubber strips to get to screws underneath to get it apart?
