Dual-band AC1200, not worth it. Save your money for a tri-band mesh system.
For $25 I think it's definitely worth it. At this point so close to WiFi 6 being common, if you need a mesh system I say get the cheapest good one you can — Google WiFi is one of the good choices for many people — then upgrade to a Wifi 6 system if you need to in a couple of years.
The percentage of people that *need* the speed of a tri-band system with dedicated wireless backhaul must be pretty small. And many of them will hardwire the access points together, anyways. (I actually have 2 of these Google WiFi pucks hardwired together, although it's not necessary for me.)
Same for AC1200 — most people aren't doing intra-network transfers so are essentially limited by their ISP speed, and are happy if their "router" provides a reliable connection and is fast enough to stream Netflix to a couple TVs, and now maybe do a video conference at the same time.
