I'd suggest anyone who wants to try these out buy only one to make sure your fitment. For me they leak terribly from both sides.

Anyone know if the straps easily break off from this? I purchased some on Walmart.com and the straps were just glued thinly and pulled off as soon as they were put on...junk

You're pretty much describing all masks except medical grade N95 masks. They're pretty much all pretty terrible at blocking exhaled air... but something is better than nothing.

Costco in my area hands these masks to guests who do not have one. DH got 1 one time leaving his in the car. It is so thin that I would add a layer of blue towel and tea bag for more protection. I would not wear these masks alone.

Anyone know which is a better quality the BYD or HoMedics? Researched online and can't tell which, both have good and bad reviews...

I ordered HoMedics yesterday ($3 more) when they did't have BYD at that time, but now both are available online. It seems both are made in China. My HoMedics order is now back ordered "We anticipate your order will ship the week of June 22nd." So considering ordering the BYD now if it's the same or better quality rather than waiting and hopping HoMedics it will show up then...
