Thumbs up for the price.

Boo to Lenovo for the non-upgradeable RAM
If you have a Samsung phone, Dex is pretty good for light schoolwork, provided you're okay with Google office apps. A $30 USB-C hub is all you need to get a monitor, keyboard, and mouse connected for a desktop-esque experience.
I needed something similar. Some laptops are more powerful and upgradeable. Like ThinkPads. I bought a used ThinkPad T470 with a broken LCD to use as desktop for around $200 and upgraded the RAM to 32 GB, a 1TB SSHD along with 256GB nvme which came preinstalled. Supports my 4K display as well.

I was looking for a computer I can plug into my desktop monitor for just some light college work. I was wondering if it's worth it to get this or if I should stick to connecting my laptop to my monitor. Thanks for your help!

Aw, too bad the ram isn't upgradable. I'm assuming the usb-c ports support display, but no PD? Can't tell from the specs.

Why don't you try m93p or m92p from eBay (used), if all you need to use is Microsoft office (no gaming)

It should work fine. It's a decent computer. It would be perfect for a college student or someone who just does basic stuff. I really wish it had hdmi to hook up to tv. Perfect media center.

This is a pretty decent family/light work nano pc. Good price considering the included 512 PCIe ssd. Soldered ram is the major down side but still good for people who don't need that much ram

Wireless mouse and keyboard a nice touch. No HDMI but has DisplayPort/USB-C.

Ports: Front
  • 2 x USB 3.1 (Gen 2)
  • USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen 2)
  • Headphone / mic combo
Ports: Rear
  • 2 x USB 3.1 (Gen 2)
  • USB-C (USB 3.1 Gen 2)
  • DisplayPort
  • RJ45
Looking at the CPU, it seems more than capable for running PLEX and doing a variety of transcoding tasks. I have a Dell 3040M with an Intel Core i5-6500T (for running PLEX) and the Lenovo's CPU is superior. Not to mention how compact this is.

I have a Lenovo Q190 which came with a VESA bracket for mounting the computer to the back of a monitor, I didn't see this listed with one. It would be a nice touch if they included one.

Reviews aren't the greatest on this, but probably not terrible. I have a P320 that is slightly larger, but works very well.
