Not trying to be "that guy" but WWDC is in like 5 days and if they announce a new base iPad this will either drop or be replaced. It's 5 days. If you've waited this long (numerous sales for this iPad) what's a week?
So buy now, don't open, and if a new one comes out just return it. If not you don't have to worry about stock being out.
The real question is how low does the "current year" model drop once the new one is announced and how does that trend for the next 12 months...

New one won't be as cheap. Yes, we already knew this. But still.

I hadn't seen this thread but I thought I would throw this out there. I had seen the previous Microcenter deal 309.99, its out of stock so tough to price match although some did.

So I just chatted with "Target" and asked for a healthcare discount , whether it was that or not they gave me a 5% for basically loyalty (before redcard extra 5%) so got the total down to 314.82 after tax. I was going for the "home run" which would have been price match + 5% loyalty + 5% red card. Didn't get it but did get the extra 5%.

Doesn't hurt to ask their chat folks for some love, got a nice deal around Christmas on Switch plus game , better than a Black Friday deal that had been posted.

So i've been looking for a good reason to upgrade my ipad air 2, and here we are almost 6 years later, I still haven't seen an ipad worthy of dethroning my air 2. The only difference I see after 6 years of new iterations is a A10 vs A8X chip, built in sensors for connecting to a pencil and keyboard, and Live Photo/HDR capabilities for the camera. Am I missing something here?

I'm still rocking the iPad 4 and it struggles to even play Netflix without crashing or randomly shutting down around 20%. I think it's time I upgraded. Would you recommend an older Air or just this newer regular model?
