It's an ok price. It was the same price a few weeks back but it included two extra bottles.

While this deal itself isn't spectacular, a SodaStream in general is well worth the price if you drink a lot of sparkling water. Retail bottles go for $1-1.50/liter, so this kit already pays for itself (and produces much less waste).

I can highly recommend a soda stream if you like sparkling water. We drink a ton of it and it's way cheaper. I recommend buying some true lemon/lime packets (not orange) instead of the flavoring that people squirt into their water. Also FYI, I normally exchange my canisters at target but they have been back ordered for like 2 months now.

Can I just use fresh orange juice and make it soda with this?

If you are a serious soda/sparkling water drinker - like my family is - buy the CO2 adapter from eBay and hook this up to a larger tank. Your cost drops significantly and you can get your drink on!

Hacked mine with a 20lb canister. Just buy an adapter off eBay. Refills are much cheaper.

Have definitely avoided lots of unnecessary plastic bottles with this. Recommended purchase!

What do you use or like to use to flavor it? All I drink is flavored sparkling water from the grocery store (LaCroix, Bubly, etc). Is this basically the same thing only flavorless without adding flavor?

^^^This x1000%!

It costs me $16 to fill up my huge tank at a local homebrew place, and it lasts about 2-3 months with constant daily use. Compared to the normal refills that cost $15 and last maybe 1-2 weeks.

Also, if you do visit a homebrew place...check out their flavoring section. Mine is loaded with everything from raspberry to espresso to habanero.

Love my SodaStream. Hooked up a 20lb tank and swap it at my local beer store for $14. I drink a lot of seltzer as is but adding some Mio Orange Tangerine is my crack. So good!

Can you provide a link to the adapter you suggest? And canister that is food grade for this type of purpose? I've had mine but never bought more cartridges. I'd love to go this route. TIA!

The last I looked into it, there's no "food grade CO2" CO2 is just CO2. I'm not sure I'd recommend this, unless you do go through with buying a big CO2 tank to do refills. If you're making soda it gets to be expensive with the mixes but they are good.
