Square Trade limits their liability to the lesser of 3 additional years, or the original value of the price paid. Let's say the TV goes haywire in year 3, and Square Trade makes 3 repairs totaling the original purchase price. The SQ warranty is over in year 3. You also must remove the TV from the wall yourself, in order to have it repaired. I'm not knocking SQ. In 8 years with SQ, I've had one claim on a major purchase. They were great. Washing machine repaired within a week. I'm also a Costco fan.
I also don't like the mfg. warranty being extended to two years. You have to deal with the manufacturer for 2 years before another warranty kicks in.
Yes, you can return a TV within 90 days. These big TVs are no fun to return.
I don't have any experience with how Costco Citi would handle the claim, in this case. If anyone does, please comment.
