Great for power users as a macro pad. I use it to launch programs, execute hotkeys, and especially for managing all my DisplayFusion commands for my quad monitor setup.

Good deal.. This device is amazing. I use it for all kids of things. The basics like launching apps, going straight to a specific website and even controlling media. On the advanced side I've set it up to help me during a job hunt (pre programmed application question responses) and even to enter Linux commands in a VM making my cybersecurity work lite on typing. I also use it in ableton live to load devices, instruments and effects. With the exception of native Linux support, I haven't really found a limitation yet. I use super macro so much I even wrote a python script to make writing the macro code easy with plain text. I cannot recommend a streamdeck enough.
For what it's worth, there's an app called something like Touch Portal that costs maybe $10, and can be used with a spare phone or tablet to achieve a similar result. You have to set things up yourself though

I've also discovered touch portal recently and it seems to cover most of what streamdeck does. I think ill try free version of touch portal first to see if something like a streamdeck would really be helpful for me
How do you day trade with this? can you describe your setup? thx
I use it with DAS Trader Pro software which supports hotkeys. I just map each of my hotkeys to buttons on the Stream Deck. One hotkey can do the following:
* calculate how many shares to buy based on my predefined $100 risk level
* place an order for the shares
* place a stop loss at a spot I chose before hitting hotkey
Being able to string actions together like this makes DAS + Stream Deck very powerful for active trading (albeit very dangerous if you're not careful!)
