Just a counterpoint to every single thread regarding Samsung appliances, I have had 2 Samsung fridges, samsung washer and dryer, samsung gas range and OTR microwave for the last 7 years.. the only issue with any of them is the top in-door ice maker in one of my fridges freezes up occasionally.

General Rule - Samsung Electronics: Good, Samsung Appliances: Bad
I wish I would have known this 7 years ago when I bought my appliances. I will never buy another Samsung fridge. The ice makers are garbage. No issues with the other appliances (knock on wood)
But I will only be sticking to their phones and TVs. I am in the market for a washer and dryer though.
I have 4 Samsung appliances, 2 of the 4 broke within a few years. I'm going to have to agree with this. That their terrible.

Maytag or Whirlpool anyday. American brand with legendary quality.
At the end of the day, though, it all comes down to personal experience. I had a Samsung washer (not made by Samsung, of course) that died in about 2 years. It replaced a Maytag that ran fine for almost 18 years. I replaced it with a Whirlpool that broke the day it was delivered. Every brand has people who have had good and bad experiences, so it's really hard to go by reviews.
