Looks like a great deal and like the 50amp plug, trifuel (since I have NG handy and prefer clean burning fuels), anyone heard much about this company? Their duel fuel generator seems to have decent reviews 3.5-4 stars, but this one looks newer and less reviewed. Are they related to Champion somehow? Saw the engine cc appears the same as Champion models

Just a friendly reminder....make sure to test it before you need it and get everything you'll need for it ahead of time.

Bought a Champion model at Costco many years ago. Still had it in the box when Superstorm Sandy hit. Didn't know it at the time, but it needed to me modified by an electrician so it wouldn't trip the circuits in my house. Also, needed an L14-30 plug which could not be found anywhere. Have a buddy who purchased an expensive Honda and his needed some modification by an electrician as well before it would work on his house.

So, don't buy it and think, ok I'm all set if the power goes out. Make sure to test it and buy all accessories ( plugs, length of wire, any needed connections) ahead of time.

Like the tri fuel especially if you have access to natural gas. After Sandy it became quite a challenge to keep it running on gasoline as very few gasoline stations were open. People would sleep out overnight in their cars online waiting for gas stations rumored to open with gasoline. Then you needed at least five, 5 gallon gas cans ( which also become hard to find). They use more fuel than you think.

Oh, on my many trips to home improvement stores at the time, something stuck with me at the last trip. Cashier told me that a lot of people had been buying locks and chains and over the past few days they have been buying bigger and stronger ones. Yes, locks and chains as generators were getting stolen.

Dang. This is what I am looking for (tri-fuel, 240v, >5kw, <$1500) but the THD sounds like it's quite high. I wouldn't be able to run electronics from it which is a deal breaker. I wish I could find one just like this, but an inverter version. Champion makes the 100520, which is a larger inverter generator, but it doesn't do natural gas from the factory. I haven't found the right generator on the market for my needs as of yet. I got excited about this one for a min, until I saw how noisy the power was...

Where are you getting the THD number from? Seems some debate in the Costco reviews

Will this charge a Tesla or a generator with an inverter is needed for that?

They don't seem to publish THD numbers but the manual says:

"Surge Protection
There is a remote chance that voltage fluctuations may impair the proper functioning of some sensitive electronic equipment. Electronic devices, including computers and many programmable appliances may use components that are designed to operate within a narrow voltage range and may be affected by the portable generator's momentary voltage fluctuations. While there is no way to prevent all voltage fluctuations, you can take steps to protect your sensitive electronic equipment. Install a plug-in surge suppressor on the receptacles feeding your sensitive equipment. Surge suppressors come in single or multi-outlet styles. They are designed to protect against short duration voltage fluctuations."

should I get this or whole house generator? Besides the price difference, any pros and cons?

Also, can this be stored outside with a cover? Or will that ruin it?

Uninformed question, would a device like this protect if you hooked this up at the generator, before running power into your breaker? It sounds like it protects from under/over voltage, but I don't know enough about electricity to know if that includes THD/sensitive electronic issues. Some of the reviews sound like it does protect RV sensitive electronics.

As long as the price change occurred within 30 days prior to the date the price changed, you can request it:
https://customerservice.costco.co...com-orders

Costco.com will gladly issue a credit for the difference between the price you paid and the promotional price, if your purchase was made online at Costco.com and was within 30 days prior to the change in price. Credits are typically issued within 3-5 business days.

Incorrect, will charge a Tesla fine with a UMC charger. May just have to bump down the amperage a bit in the car.

240v*32a = 7680W
