How long will this last for someone who only grinds a costco bag every few months.

In my experience with the Cuisinart CBM-18N, the conical-burr version of this one, it depends on manufacturing quality control variance. The first one I bought I in 2009 was replaced by mnfr warranty (don't recall how long after, but still under warranty); then I bought another when that one died in 2014. I replaced it about 2 years later, after it died just outside of 18 month warranty.

I did not buy another Cuisinart grinder. Rather, I bought the Bodum BISTRO Burr Grinder (also conical), and have been happy with that one ever since.

I have had this grinder since Feb '19. I use it daily. Imagine my reaction when I literally just spent 1 1/2 hours tearing this thing apart and giving it a deep cleaning for the first time and then proceeding to come here to look for a deal on a conical burr grinder Ha ha I paid $39.34 for it so I don't consider this a slickdeal. My experience with the machine for over a year has been good. It does the job but does leave a fine powder behind that over time gets caked up and solidified in hard to reach areas of the machine. I routinely try to clean it but when I took it apart for the first time this evening, I swear I collected enough fine coffee grounds to make a pot. I saw on YT people grinding uncooked rice in these type of machines weekly to prevent the accumulation of fine coffee particles/powder overtime. I am going to give that a try moving forward and lookout for deal on a different better machine. Overall I am very pleased with this machine but IMO it's not worth more than what I paid for it over a year ago.
