Because there was a WD sale for 2tb for like $20 at WM on clearances. This is closer to regular price for a 2tb portable these days.

A YMMV walmart clearance deal? You got a better chance to win the powerball than score that. I am like 1 for 100 with these bogus walmart clearance deals even when Walmart supposedly has +6 items available. Waste time and gas for clearance Walmart deals.
