This isn't a bad price at $17.5 per aH, but you should be able to get new, sealed in package, OEM M12 batteries for about $11 to $14 per aH on eBay (depending on the size) any day of the week. I just grabbed a pack of two M12 CP 3.0 with a charger for $80.

M18s are around $14 per aH.
If anyone else is like me, my issue isn't a shortage of M12 batteries. I have one 6Ah and one 4Ah and a ton of the basic batteries. I can't imagine needing more, especially when the tool deals with the battery can be as cheap as only the tool.

Agree, though I mostly buy reconditioned M18 tools through CPO or tool only deals on eBay. And they hold power for so long I basically keep a pack in every tool. just getting into the M12 line. waiting for a deal on the 4 in 1 driver / interchangable head.

Great price. I just find m12 tools weakness is heat build up and they can't take cycling batteries. Doing a deck last week I had to swap to my m18 and even my ryobi impact to keep up with deck screws and it was because of heat not batteries Same with a m12 saw.

Some HD stores have clearanced this pack out to $75. If you're lucky enough to be in an area that has and can find one, or are able to order this item for pickup to a store that has AND can get them to adjust the price, super slick. Not easy and I wouldn't waste a bunch of time trying to make it happen...but it's doable.

Registration is not needed on battery packs, the manufacturing date is used to determine the warranty period.

But like most manufacturers, you have to ship the broken tool or battery to the manufacturer for evaluation, postage pre-paid and insured. Not worth it on battery backs. I have a lot of tools and I've only had to use my warranty once. If need to call in a warranty on any of my sub $100 tools, I've usually gotten my moneys worth. So I either fix it myself or just buy the new version. But in my experience, the tool will break way outside of the warranty period.

The installation drill / driver is a grrat addition to any set. That's absolutely my go go at the moment

I dunno, I'm returning my m12 line because the batteries did not last long at all.
It depends on the tool you're using. My M18 5.0Ah battery lasts pretty much forever in my impact wrench but only about 15 minutes in my Fuel 2nd gen blower. You have to size the battery correctly for the tool if you are worried about run time.

Has anyone had any luck with any of the generic ones off amazon?
