It's actually very likely this item isn't refurbished, but units pulled from larger kits and being sold in bulk packaging. Whoever created that listing on Amazon originally intended it to be refurbished, but when Amazon sells refurbished items they list in the title. Just the downside of third party listings on Amazon.

With that said... it could be refurbished. Even if new, it won't come in a retail box and it won't have Dewalt's warranty associated with it.
