These are fantastic units, if anyone is interested. Not hard to self-install. I did mine by myself, and would go much faster an easier with a buddy. Not worth the $129/each to have them professionally installed, assuming you have a tape measure, pencil, hand tools, and maybe a level

This is supposed to get installed on a bare ceiling. You just have to find the studs on the other side of the drywall/ceiling so you know your drilling into something and not just drywall that will collapse instantly. All ceiling have support beams or studs behind them, cause that's what you attach the drywall to.

If you don't have a drywall ceiling and you meant bare as in bare exposed posts, that's actually even better and easier cause you don't even need to use a stud finder to find where to drill the screws for support.

if mounted against the wall as shown in the picture, 4 ft seems pretty deep. How would you even reach the stuff in the back?
Is that a typical configuration, or are people mounting these things differently?

Great deal and perfect timing for this! I'm finishing my basement and need to move some of my storage into the garage.

I got this for $273 after tax ($249 pre-tax) last year. Definitely worth it and holding strong. Took me a while and a few videos to be confident enough to do it. The boxes that were delivered were really heavy and was an effort to take it into the garage.

Got this last year. Like it
Not difficult to install. Finding studs through drywall was biggest challenge but definitely doable even without stud finder. Tap and check with small nail and hammer.

You're right about depth. We have to move the front bins to access bins that aren't accessible from the sides. We have them sit long wise against the wall so there are only 2-3 boxes or bins that need the extra work to access. Of course we put stuff that we usually don't need there.

I didn't have the nut driver to fix the ceiling bracket screws. Tighten them with wrench manually. It took me 4 hours for one rack.

I should have bought nut driver set make my life easier. Or the $129 Per rack installation is worth it.
