This is the right price for this watch, not s penny more. If you like the styling, the bracelet, there's nothing wrong with adding this one to your collection.

Just know that there's a Calvin Klein that goes on sale every month or so for about 100 bucks with a superior movement and a similar look. Both Calvin Klein and Tissot are owned by Swatch watch group, so you're paying a bit more for the name on the front of the watch. Nothing wrong with that, but it's the truth.

Still, not a bad watch with a classic look, just nothing breathtaking nor dynamic. If it speaks to you, this is about the cheapest it goes.
I use mine on occasion to determine the time.
If you're deciding between this and the Calvin Klein one, I personally think the Tissot is the easy winner. It's 39mm which is much better for this style of watch than the CK watch at 42mm which is going to be passé in a few years since normal size watches are coming back into fashion. The quality difference of the movement is meaningless, since they are both high beat ETA and will have similar accuracy. If you're buying a $200 automatic watch this movement is fantastic. Also, if you're buying one of these watches it's probably because you aren't too obsessed with watches yet. Tissot is a more serious brand in watches, though how much you care is up to you. Which honestly, you probably should care about since automatic watches are redundant now with quartz accuracy and cell phones, so it's mostly about the craftmanship and brand heritage.

Interesting how the black says 2824-2 and it looks to really have the 2836-2.... oh Joma looks like you did it again! But yes if you can get past the brand name it is a solid movement for $99 bucks. It is not for me but I do agree with you.

It's a great deal and a good watch to start if you want to get into mechanical watch world. I'd prefer a skeleton back to start to actually see what's inside. So for the luxury mechanical watch brands among Swatch Group (and I am not counting the plastic watch "Swatch" brand), the tiers is kind of like this:
High end : Omega, Blancpain, Glashütte Original, etc
Middle : Longines, Rado, etc
Lower ends (more commonly shown as SD deals) : Tissot, Hamilton, Calvin Klein, Certina, etc

But when you really serious about watches... these become your daily beaters...

For ETA movements, even with the same number, they have different grades for different brands/watches. Usually you need to lookup on the forums, ask the dealers, to know what grade it is when you first get yourself into this world.

Do people still wear watches for anything but a fashion statement?

I use mine to tell time. And a dive watch is a great tool as a timer for more than diving. I use it all the time. Put your phone down.

Lol deciding between Tissot automatic and a Calvin Klein is a no brainer
