I got this PSU. So far so good, but the LED isn't addressable with your motherboard or anything..there is no connector for it. Also only has one CPU power cable. Other than that, it seems to be working well so far.

If I were you, I wouldn't really disclose that to the public since it's kinda illegal under FTC rules if you didn't indicate that you were incentive in the review

This item is also available on Amazon for $10 more. Worth it for easier return or any issues with the item as it's fulfilled by Amazon

I was sketch about the 80+ Gold certification, but I found their certificate and it's legit?

What strikes me as rather odd is that this, a supposed 850W power supply, only comes with two PCI-e cables, which means you can only run one gpu. Most 850's of reputable quality typically have 6 PCI-e cables, such any Seasonic gold rated and above (they have 6), Asus Thor 850 (6), any Corsair gold rated or above (6), etc., etc. True, there are some with only 4 PCI-e cables at this rated output, but I wouldn't call them high quality builds.

Only one pair of PCI-e cables......that says a lot.

Huh, strange seeing them out here. Last I checked GameMax is a brand that sells in UK and is owned by some Chinese company that manufactures these power supplies.

I'm looking for a high-capacity power supply, but $140 seems pretty steep. Are they usually this expensive? I was thinking of going 1000W even, but down know if I'm ready to drop $200 on a PSU.

i posted a review on amazon on their 600w one, but I'm guessing this one is similar. if you look at the rails voltage delivery, you can see how it actually does a lot more through the pcie.

this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/custome...dctrvw_srp

but i still think these are over priced compared to the "name brand" ones. if i bought another one, i'd prob go with Thermaltake or seasonic...

This is why you can't trust most positive Amazon reviews anymore because the second you give a bad or critical review is when the free stuff stops flowing.

I would stay away from this brand. This is probably the same stuff that comes by default with cyber power and Ibuypower

the supply chain was (and probably still is) severely limited by covid, and at the same time demand increased by many people needing to build/buy computers for stay at home work, plus many stay at home people were probably just bored out of their minds and decided to build something. Hopefully prices will go back to normal soon enough, but with everything going on who knows.

I would hold off on buying a new PSU if you are planning on getting the RTX 3### GPUs since they will have new type of PCIE power connector.
