Can you use the RBK50 router as a satellite? Need two more satellites.

No, but use this satellite and sell the router to a fiend or someone in a small Apt / Condo as can sue by itself.

I have an R8000 that would drop connection a couple times a day, with the current firmware. I changed over to dd-wrt and now it's solid. Tried to tweak the settings, but I don't get quite the same range as I did with the original firmware, but its still pretty close.

The prices for the refurb R8000 and XR500 are ridiculous. Would be fine if they were new, but.. you can do much better for your money.

XR450 for example (same hardware as XR500 with lower 2.4GHZ QAM rate..which does not matter for a large majority of REAL world clients) was going for 139-149 new from Walmart a month or two back. Sale lasted awhile too lol

And for the R8000.. its a 3x3 triband design with a significantly outdated 1ghz dual core A9. You can find a triband router with a 1.8ghz A53 dual/quad core with updated 3x3 or better 4x4 radios as low as $130 bucks on sale every few months.

Are people really this misinformed or biased towards Netgear? Nothing against OP for posting, but I just cant see the value in some of these refurbished products.

The RBK50 price is good. Newegg had refurbs at similar price ($150) a few months back and hit Frontpage.

To be fair, AC offers the best price to performance right now and probably will for the next couple years unless theres price decreases for 4x4 AX radios. I just think refurbished shouldn't cost as much or more than brand new products.. especially with a limited 90 day warranty.
