Thanks for the share, this is a wired camera, still hunting for an <$40 battery powered camera for our kids' rooms. For those who will mount this with the wire visible, eventually the kid will find it, and then you'll want a battery powered camera lol.
If your kid is old enough to find the wire and find the camera... They are probably past the age you should have a camera on them.
Foscam sucks. From my experience I would say foscam, yi, wayze for cheap cameras with foscam at the bottom. If you're going all out then go for a reolink which is affordable and POE
My two cents on Foscam. Have had three of them for 3-4 years now. They work great as baby and nanny cams. The feed pulls up quickly on third party apps (see TinyCam). The quality even on the R2 model is far better than Ring or Arlo. And feed pulls up faster than Ring. And I like true IP cameras so I can hook up to my NAS.
They are however a pain in the ass to set up and if you change your ISP or router you have to set it up again and takes time to do it right (static IP, port forwarding, etc).
Also kinda funny they have the word "scam" right in the brand name!
I would recommend them if you know how to set stuff up intelligently and safely on your network. I don't need a 4th one or else I would probably jump on this. Good luck!
If you buy Foscam product from Dailysteals, consider the product without warranty. Foscam does not deal with consumers directly. All warranty service must go through their authorized retailers or resellers. Last time when I had a problem with Foscam product purchased from Amazon, Amazon was nice enough to give me a prorated refund based on the length of the warranty. I don't think that Dailysteals will do the same.
