I have the 65TU7000 in my living room. After updating the TV (from Samsung's website through USB), the TV is great. I have a KU and a RU as well. I like the RU better than the TU, but I missed the deal for it on Amazon.
Regardless of what people say (or the ratings of a TV without proper updates), the TU series has an excellent picture and the sound on this TV is much better than the KU series. If you are an HDR fan, I am not, then maybe pick another TV. However, if you want to use HDR, the TU has a setting called shadow detail which seems to help with HDR being too dark. Also, the TV did not get rid of backlighting--it was renamed to brightness.
If you are a TV snob, then a TV in this price range is never going to be for you. If you want a TV to use as a computer screen (which I do and play Fifa, Bloodstained, and DQ 11 from my couch), watch blu-rays, use it for Netflix, and watch TV with your antenna, then this TV is an excellent buy. The colors are great, the blacks are black, and the sound is fantastic.
Another tip: turn off the eco settings that have an effect on the brightness.
As per my previous post, yes. It is connected to my main PC. It works great as a computer monitor. The only thing I did in the Nvidia control panel was adjust the gamma to .90.
