This is the best deal I've seen on a Samsung Galaxy S20 for Verizon without requiring a trade-in or new line of service.
The $1000 list price is cut in half to $500 over 24 monthly installments, reduced from $41.67 to $20.83 per month.
$350 of the discount is an instant upfront reduction. The remaining $150 comes off as 24 equal monthly bill credits.

But what phone can I get for 500 that's better than this without a plan upgrade? I am coming from a Pixel 1 which still works fine except for the Google battery drain update which can only get 20 min of screen time onna charge. So I desperately need a phone and have been holding out. I need decent battery life and waterproof. Can I hope for a better deal on something?

Strongly considering this and almost missed it because of the negative votes. Thanks OP.

I held on for 4 years to my pixel 1 and if it wasn't for Google's forced murder of the battery with their famous update from last year, I'd still be fine with it for my needs.
If your battery is still decent and you're happy with the overall responsiveness of the phone and picture quality, I'd wait longer. I ended up getting an s20+ yesterday from best buy (same instant 350 off plus 6.25 credits for 24 months) for a net 700. I also got another approx 100 off due to my employer's discount with Verizon. Its only been 24 hours and so far so good. But it won't make my life better, and thats coming from a 4 year old phone.
