Powerblock Personal Trainer Set - 5-50LB Adjustable Dumbbell Set (Non-expandable) - $299

Amazon has the Powerblock Personal Trainer Adjustable Dumbbell Set (5-50 LBS) available to order. These are the non-expandable model.

Considering that Powerblock Direct is charging shipping at this time, and being sold out everywhere, these are a solid deal at $299.

Ships in 1-2 months, however the few gym equipment items I have ordered recently on backorder have shipped much faster.

I need the Elite USA version of this one. The USA model is expandable to 90lbs and has the same cylinder grip as this model. All the newer models have a thicker handle that I can't get used to.

I'm asking how you came across it. Just randomly or is there a science to it lol.

I'd been looking for dumbbells for a while, especially now that I'm cancelling (or attempting to anyway) my gym membership as they try to reopen. My local Dick's surprisingly got two sets of Bowflex SelectTech 552s in stock (one sold by the very next day), but after reading about them, it kind of turned me off to them how some critical parts of them are made of plastic and while it's uncommon, they have been known to break, rendering the sets unusable.

Looking at the Powerblocks, it seems like the mechanism is much simpler, just a double pronged peg that you slide into the level you want. Are they generally more durable than adjustable dumbbells like the Bowflex? The shape looks a bit awkward, but can they usually be used for any exercise in which a normal non-adjustable would work?

The double fork peg is made of very flimsy plastic, feels like it would break; but inserts in snappily and stays in rock solid. Compact and solid on maneuvers. Grip size is just right but anything bigger would be too much I think (8inch palm size)
