I'm looking into a sharpening system lately - almost pulled the trigger on the work sharp Amazon deal but decided against. I'm just collecting budget offerings from QSP, CJRB, CIVIVI. Before that was mainly Kershaw, CRKT, and Boker. Was thinking to get a Benchmade Griptilian 550-1 but quality control reviews keep me away.

Of the dozen or so knives I've enjoyed for EDC, I only endorse as a fail safe options at two different price points:

Spyderco Paramilitary 2
Kershaw Skyline

I bought a work shop and never use it anymore. Only use the Spyderco sharpmaker. Does a great job on my paramilitary 2 in cpm s30v blade

Dam missed. Last time I saw a good deal was from JC Penny. You might laugh but there was 50% coupon they had that accidentally worked on Spyderco. People were getting Para military knives under $50.

I have both version of the work sharp. They are great for getting a quick edge but for my main kitchen knife have found that using a stones i picked up at a garage sale have given me an edge I didn't think I could do. Mind you I am no pro. Until this last knife I had only screwed around using stones.

I still use both my work sharps for different outdoor knives or when friends want sharp knives quick but I am considering switching all of my personal knives to stones. (It is going to take a lot of work to get the bevel out the worksharp puts on).

Oh man I bought a couple from that sale. It was ridiculous. Delicas for $21 and Para2 for $45 iirc.
