"Amazon's inexpensive espresso machine is worthless. It cannot make espresso or froth milk properly. I would love to see Bezos drinking a cup of the slop from this gadget. Amazon ought to be ashamed to put its name on products that reek of contempt for its customers."

I ask for an Amazon Basic checking account. My experience with boa is so traumatic that I will hand my money to Amazon or Google in a heartbeat.

This looks like one of those toys that gets used once or twice and then gathers dust until someone decides it's a waste of counter space.

I'd like to see a straight up review between this and a simple Aeropress.

Buy a Starbucks Via Venezia or Barista locally on OfferUp, waiting until you can snag one with all working parts for $40 and clean it. Look up (YouTube or Google) how to set the OPV down from 15 bar to 9 or 10 bar. Buy a new Baratza Sette 30 grinder for $250. Use the shim (included) to get ground espresso fine enough to get a nice, slow drip appropriate to your standards (doppio regular or ristretto). Enjoy!

Unfortunately the retail banking industry is heavily regulated and there are numerous barriers to entry that may dissuade a company like Amazon or Google from trying to get in.

If you've had issues with the big banks, perhaps look into setting up a checking or savings account with a local credit union or even the online arm of an upstart bank (e.g., Marcus Bank). They typically offer better rates, have better customer service and some might even comp you on ATM fees.

James Hoffman did a review of an AmazonBasics espresso machine, and did not have good words to say about it. For this price, you're basically throwing money away on something that might technically work, but isn't actually any good at it.
