I picked up a pair of HD10s in the last QVC deal. I will say this, if you want these for your kids, using the child accounts, to limit games they download, get a Samsung tablet and load the Family Link app. I absolutely hate Fire tablets after trying to maintain these for my 5 and 2 year olds. The fact that you can never get rid of an app has pushed me close to breaking these things over my knee.

I understand the interest at this price, but I recommend a different path for kids. The app history never goes away, so when you want to add / remove an app, every app you ever installed is in the Add Content / Remove Content section. Very poor design and can't express how many times I reitterated that to Amazon support when I was trying to understand how to remove apps.I rate this operating system as pre beta as it is just not ready for prime time. With only a few games it locks up pretty often, multiple times a day. My old Galaxy Tab S 10.5 from many years ago is more reliable and preforms better in every way than the HD10.

I would rather have paid for a Galaxy Tab S6 than deal with the frustration these things caused my family. I considered using the Fire Toolbox to debloat them but the lack of hardware specs will have me buying a real tablet in a few years anyway.

I haven't seen anything new in these tablets for eons. I don't even why they exist when older tablets can outperform these even after loading custom ROMs. These tablets only benefit Jeff; all the ads become part of your life.

The ads bog down and cause bottlenecks in these tablets.

Cost. Name a faster, better supported tablet for the price.

I have the previous model. Not unhappy with it, but it is sluggish. Is this worth the upgrade?

(Side note: I'm sad they got rid of the previous, vibrant colors.)

Quad Core processor and 2gb of RAM (or 3gb for the HD+) should make a noticeable difference.

I have Google Play store and apps installedv on my current one so I'm eager to see how they will work on the new one.

I Keep a tablet it the bathroom only for light reading and it stays there. Not looking for anything but a tablet to read the news on in the morning. Is this good for that? Any cheaper options?
