Are the arrows the only difference between the R3 and R7? Any significant improvement between the two?

Easy if it's within 30 days. They're basically Amazon if not better than Amazon for returns. They have more wiggle room than Amazon most times.

The real issue with this deal is you can get this brand new from Amazon for $420~ all the time. This is $350 for a refurb. Now; that $70 price difference might seem like a deal... but it's not. If you get a 1 year warranty on it ($55) you're not at $20 in savings from buying a refurb with the same 1 year warranty.

This isn't a good price vs new sale price.

Better long range, R7 hold one of the top long radar spot base on (Vortex radar at youtube has some great reviews on all radar), GPS lockout better, BSM filter and other filters.

I don't see NIB R7 at $420, most the time it $450 or higher. Warranty is for suck. Most decent radars can last more than 3 years. I have a few older radars ($150 to $400) that last 4 to 5 years running it almost every day.

Disagree. 20% discount is substantial. Warranty is not that big of a deal for this device.

Compare sales to sales; don't compare a refurbished on sale to a full priced non-refurb not on sale. $500 is full price, $420-$450 is the normal Amazon price at any point of the week. Also pretending 90 day warranty is anywhere near as good as a 1 year warranty is ludicrous.

"yOu WoN'T nEeD a WaRrAnTy!" <- If the company didn't think you would need it, then they would give you the 1 year on their refurbs. It's all cost analyst. But yeah you do you.

How the eff do you think they ended up with so many refurbs so quickly into it being released if they didn't have a ton returned under warranty? Peace

https://www.reddit.com/r/radardet...niden_r7s/

"I preordered an R7 and it died a few months later and was replaced under warranty ( https://old.reddit.com/r/radardet...ied_today/ ). The replacement died within a week - it won't power on at all. At first I thought it was the power adapter that came with it, but my mirror tap and my R3's power adapter also don't work. My R3, on the other hand (which was a refurb) is still chugging along just fine."

You guys can be so silly with your lack of logic.

The uniden R line is awesome. Here is a quick comparison of the main futures for anyone that needs it.

The prices are for new units

R1: $180 - $200 you get a barbone unit but with really good long range detection

R3: $250 - $300 same as the R1 but adds a gps chip. The gps let's you lockout locations around you normal driving areas (think street signs that tell you your speed) so you don't have to get an alert every day on your way to work for example. And low speed muting, do if you are going below a preset speed the unit will auto mute (you pick that speed)

R7: $420 - $500 same as R3 but you get a rear antenna. The rear antenna allows you to have arrows so you can tell if you are getting hit from front, sides or behind. The unit also provided a longer range in all tests however both the R1 and R3 provided such a long range that it's not even a big deal getting a longer range.

I have been running the R1 for about 3 years. It is hardwired to my car so it comes on everytime i get in it in the Vegas heat with no problem. I would love to upgrade to the R7 but honestly i haven't found a reason to push me to spend the money since it has been performing so well for me.

Quick question. I have the R3 now. It's hard wired into my car. Does the R7 use the same power connection so they could be swapped out?
