Just chiming in, I went out and picked up my food and within an hour the email verification arrived... in my 'spam' folder. Perhaps that is where some of the missing notifications have ended up?

This offer excludes "purchases or reloading of prepaid Cards, purchases of any cash equivalent"
and I am not sure if that includes GC's or how Amex will decide to interpret.
GC for a small business may slide but Amazon gc is a bit dicey.
