Thanks! Was needing a dumb power splitter to extend the reach and add some outlets to a UPS. They are remarkably difficult to find since Amazon wants to shove cheap surge protectors in the search instead.

something wrong with having 2 surge protectors in series? or just the added cost?

Every surge protector has a warning label telling you not to daisy chain them.

rly? i doubt there's been a day in my 40+ years that I didn't break that advice, that I'm only now been made aware of.

I really think it comes down to interaction between the protectors in high output applications. Plenty of people daisy chain them at home without anything ever going wrong.
