Lexmark C3224dw Color Duplex Laser Printer

I was looking for a color laser for home office. Not going to be used heavy duty, auto duplex is important for me. I had to use up my Amex Business platinum card $100 Dell credit for 1H2020 (Jan-June), so this worked out for me.

"In addition to built-in Ethernet and USB connectivity, Wi-Fi makes it easy for mobile users to get output via the Lexmark Mobile Print app, as well as Mopria® and AirPrint technologies. And our new Wi-Fi setup wizard simplifies wireless configuration."

"And if you run out of color toner, you can keep printing in black."

"Measuring just 9.6 inches high x 16.2 inches wide x 15.5 inches deep (243.7 mm high x 411.2 mm wide x 394.1 mm deep), the C3224dw fits almost anywhere."

What's in the Box:
Lexmark C3224dw Color Laser Printer
750 page Black Print Cartridge
500 page Cyan Print Cartridge
500 Page Magenta Print Cartridge
500 Page Yellow Print Cartridge
Power Cord

My Ricoh doesn't do that. Pisses me off.

Hard pass. Absolutely no reason for a printer to stop working if there is a perfectly functional toner cartridge present.

Anyone know if you can use generic cartidges in this? I am not paying $79/cartridge or more. I did do a search but the "what it works with" seems to be cryptic. This model is not specifically listed, but seems that it may be equivalent to other brands. I was just wondering if anyone already had one and knew. Thanks!

looks like you can refill the toner but you must use the original toner.

This is code word for "you can only use genuine cartridges". And even then, those genuine cartridges won't work any more if you move or even if you use a VPN.

Check EBay for replacement toner cartridges. Relying on feedback profiles, I've used various EBay sellers for many years and have always found that their products, at minimum, perform as well as OEM cartridges for a fraction of the cost.

Can someone dumb down the meaning of "specific geographical region" for me? Does that mean if I live in CA, I can only buy cartridges from CA or something?

Looks like stock is low. Any retailers that would price match?

I've looked around for "compatible" toner cartridges, and have found none. I suspect the "savings" in buying this machine is quickly eliminated once the microfill "starter" cartridges run out. Hundreds of dollars for an OEM set.

Ricoh SP 250dn? Yes it has the microchip that stops us.

Good thing is we can buy $12 to reset it on amazon or reset it ourselves via arduino. And replacement refills cost about $40-$50 versus the $200+ dollars for a new cartridges the industry is ripping us off on.

Anyways letting my SD 'ers know that for $50-$80 we can renew the ricoh if we DIY it for refills. Otherwise i do not recommend buying new cartridges at exorbitant high price when its just a piece of plastic with powder
