I recommend using Thaiphoon and export xmp profile to dram calc. Inputting the values myself gave me too tight of a timing causing boot problems.

Well you are lucky then. The pair I got last week from the $64 deal was very bad, at XMP barely performs on par with my 3000 CL14 Microns. 3700x + b450i Stix. And after many many combos I wasn't able to tighten CL to 17 without lowering speed, at 1.46v.

It's probably your b450, I have only been able to get gskills neo 3600 cl 16 to 3200 cl 16. I believe the x550 /x570 does much better with ram.
Anyone have suggestions on where to snag a 2x8GB DDR3L SO-DIMM kit?

EDIT: And it's not like DDR3L is all that expensive. 2x8GB is only about $60 if you're not too picky about brand. Example [amazon.com]. Or a faster set for $10 more [newegg.com].
