The fuel plus program is the biggest scam. You would think that you can get 4x points with this, but nope!

Why would you think it would be 4x? It's always 1 point for $1 spent.

No he's talking about fuel VIP for $40 a year you get double the points on purchases so technically you would get 4x points on purchases but it's only 3x points

Hmmm they have the 4x deal about 5 times a year on gift cards, 2x and 3x on regular items so I don't see what issue you are having....

Yes the VIP program. After I signed up for the program, I was expecting to get double points on items that were 2x and 4x, but in the fine print, it doesn't work. I even signed up for the kroger checkout program when they had 2x the points by using the checkout, it would nullify the VIP benefits.

I've boycotted kroger since that scam. I will never shop there again.

Well I get it but to be honest the real perk of being fuel VIP is the bonus coupons you get free stuff monthly or the bonus 200 points when you buy a gift card ( $10-$15 ) . I was getting them previously but noticed a nice uptick once I paid for fuel VIP. It's definitely not worth $40 unless you are taking advantage of bonus coupons and extra free items. Double the points doesn't really do much for grocery purchases at most VIP should be $20 not $40 !

They're not in my neck of the country.. curious, though. Price wise are they a bit overpriced, like a Stop & Shop or Shop Rite? Are they more so-so like Wal-Mart? Or are they way high like a Whole Foods?

Slightly better than Wal-Mart, significantly less than Whole foods. No idea what Stop & Shop or Shop Rite is.

Curious if this program really works. Around here we have Stop and Shop (sister company to Giant) that runs similar promos. The problem is they are more expensive to begin with (the store). They also severely handicapped their program a couple years ago, basically cutting the max possible discount in half.

I used the hell out of the program when they'd run their 5x gas points on Visa GC promos, buying with CC (getting 5 points too), then liquidating with Bluebird. I got more than $1k in free gas that way in just one summer. Then they changed the program, as I said, cutting how much gas you could get at a fill up. At the same time Bluebird died, and since S&S is so expensive anyway, I don't shop there.

Stop & Shop and Shop-Rite prices are like $3 for a loaf of bread, $11.50/lb for Boars Head Ham sliced, $4.99/lb for boneless skinless chicken breast, $2.99 is a sale price for a carton of strawberries, $3.99/gal for Whole Milk. To me, high.
