Good find. For those that miss out, likely the 7390 will drop some amount in coming months because of the new model that's out..

I was really torn by this deal. I love the specs but I wanted them in a 9300 or 7390 2-in-1. I ended up getting an open-box HP Spectre x360 13" 8GB RAM and 512GB SSD with i7 4-core ice lake for $818. Couldn't justify paying $320 more for 8GB RAM, 4K screen, and 2 extra cores for me at least.

This was available (or very similar) new just the other day for less, with 1080p.

There was 10% code SAVE10, expired now. 50OFF699 works.

oh I forgot that the reps will definitely give you an additional 5% off. I've been watching laptops for the last few days and talked to them on three occasions and all offered 5% off additionally.

Hmm...

How does the 10710U stack up against AMD's 4500U and 4700U in the real world?
Also, battery with the 4k display?

FYI, I was considering this and then noticed at the end that it is refurbished, not new.

I saw that too. It's odd because the deal specifically says new laptops are that price.

I don't know about the real world comparisons, but I know the battery life with 4k display is like 3 hours less. I've seen estimates range from 6-8.5 hours depending on what you're doing. I actually wanted a 1080p screen for more battery life since I'm getting this to be ultraportable.

Edit: seems the link becomes broken. Search dell website, there is 1080p with the same specs (same price)

AMD is faster, runs much cooler/lower watt and better iGPU.

The intel 10nm process is equivalent to the TSMC 7nm process. They measure their processes different ways.

That being said, I'd probably have picked an AMD ryzen overall, I did for my desktop. However, in the most premium builds, such as Dell XPS, HP Spectre x360, etc, they're all using Intel chips. Build quality matters a lot to me.
