For the few people like me that do not yet have the hub. The Lutron Caseta Smart Start Kit is currently $99.95 but was showing 30% off for me so I jumped on that deal instead.

This kit includes (1) Smart Bridge (1) Caseta In-Wall Dimmer (1) Pico Remote Control and (1) Pico Wall plate Bracket.

I guess fine for you.

For most stay away from non Lutron for switches.

They don't have dependency on 2.4 or 5.0 GHz and won't slow your network.

Lutron is an a league of Its own. Super reliable. Can have up to 75 devices I believe and multiple homes as well.

Has HomeKit functionality too which others may not.

Dimmers won't require a neutral.

Those are sort of the highlights.
I understand the hub aversion to some extent, but in my experience Lutron is in a league of its own when it comes to smart home functionality, reliability and customer service. The hub is really a non-issue in light (no pun intended) of all that. And if you plan on using several Lutron switches/plugs, it's an advantage, as their RF devices don't end up cluttering your 2.4GHz network.
Why did their WiFi dependency not be a deal breaker ??

But a bridge which provides positive functionality a deal breaker ?

Coupon details says "Save 15% on your Smart Home purchase"

I'm not sure what else the coupon works on, but it does work on the Lutron smart plug that I wanted to order, so thank you Smilie

I have two rooms without the neutral wire. I would buy this but it requires to have a hub in order to communicate with Alexa which is a deal breaker. I have a few Leviton and TP-link switches that can work with Alexa without requiring a hub

Likewise, I need to buy the hub, and am waiting on a deal on the starter kit that includes 2 dimmer switches and remotes and the hub. I'm ok with introducing a new hub to the mix for all the upsides of these switches.

So agree. I don't need more devices on my network. Working from home and home schooling had over 50 devices on my network, yikes

The hub is worth it. No longer reliant on every switch maintaining a Wi-Fi connection, Lutron's 433MHz signal works every single time. I moved my whole house to Lutron Caséta in 2017 and no regrets whatsoever. I did have to change out some bulbs, but that's just due to the lack of an LED dimming standard.
